There isn’t a day I’ve spent in my studio daydreaming that hasn’t resulted in calm. Maybe it’s the slight scent of spring lavender playing with winter’s frasier fir, swirling through today’s currents of air and sunshine, blowing through my open studio window. With that sweet, dancing light comes an awakening of my spirit and imagination. There’s a lightness in my mood, allowing me to gently approach my paint and canvas.
After my run, I filled my tub. Letting the water fill while running atop my favorite locally made rose soap. The smell brings me back to many of my favorite memories and I loved the experience of giving myself this time to rest in the warmth.
Of course, leaving this moment and making my way up to my attic studio is about as good as an afternoon can be. Here are some photos of my studio today and a photo of my little Kea sitting on the edge of my lovely tub back in October.
